Mrs. Muses and Mr. Wallis' homeroom classes take on the Tallahassee Mag Lab. During the visit students participated in a tour of the facility, seeing the world-record hybrid magnet, and some of the world's strongest magnets. Students were also able to see real-world scientific research being conducted at a national science research facility and learned about how electromagnets work. Students then participated in a hands-on activity related to the tour that covered topics from magnetism to electricity to superconductivity. These activities challenge students to ask and answer questions about the world around them.

5th graders had an amazing day at the Mag Lab! They toured the facility learning all about the (very cool) equipment scientists travel from all over the world to use. They witnessed a superconductor in action and participated in hands-on activities with magnets that included building an electromagnet! It was a day full of learning and fun to say the least!

📚 Happy School Librarian Appreciation Day!

At Shadeville Elementary, we are so lucky to have Mrs. Hannah Leavine at the heart of our library. She doesn’t just run the media center—she creates a space where every student feels welcome, curious, and excited to learn.

Whether she’s helping a child find the perfect book, supporting teachers, or bringing lessons to life, Mrs. Leavine pours her whole heart into our school. She knows our students, encourages them, and helps them grow into confident readers and learners.

Thank You, Mrs. Leavine for all you do!
