Wakulla Institute has completed the two-year training process to become a certified Trauma-Skilled School through the National Dropout Prevention Center.

In May 2026, five teachers and two administrators received their certifications, marking an important milestone for the school and its continued commitment to supporting students. Through the Trauma-Skilled Schools Model, staff members are trained in trauma knowledge, resiliency development, and practical skills for trauma management.

Trauma-Skilled School Certification verifies that a school has implemented a plan to support students and staff through trauma-informed practices, while also building systems to sustain those efforts over time.

This certification reflects Wakulla Institute’s dedication to creating a safe, supportive, and resilient learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
