Congratulations to WHS juniors Emily Zak and Mattie Harrell for being selected to represent Talquin Electric Cooperative this June in Washington, D.C. as part of the National Rural Electric Association’s Youth Tour.
Emily and Mattie were chosen out of 24 local candidates from Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden and Liberty Counties, all of whom participated in Talquin’s local Youth Tour and were interviewed for the national opportunity. Junior Delmas Jackson was also selected as one of two alternates for the national tour and received a $500 scholarship.
In addition to traveling to Washington, D.C. this summer, both students also received a $1000 scholarship to use for college or post-secondary education.
Wakulla High School is so proud of these exceptional students and wish them luck this summer!
