WAKULLA COUNTY, FL — The Florida Department of Education has officially released school and district grades for the 2024–2025 academic year, and Wakulla County School District is proud to announce it has once again earned an “A” rating—for the third year in a row.

Wakulla remains the highest-performing school district in the Big Bend region and is now ranked 11th overall among all 67 Florida school districts, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence.

“We saw promising trends in student achievement this past school year, and yesterday's official grade release confirms what we believed to be true—Wakulla is a district of excellence,” said Superintendent Rick Myhre. “Our schools improved or maintained performance across nearly every tested subject and grade level. Seeing that reflected in the Florida Department of Education’s official report is incredibly remarkable.”

At the school level, Medart Elementary School, Riversprings Middle School, and Wakulla Middle School each earned an “A” rating for the first time since the pandemic. Shadeville Elementary School continues its legacy of success, achieving its tenth consecutive “A” rating. Crawfordville Elementary School, Riversink Elementary School, and Wakulla High School each earned solid “B” ratings and have already begun strategic planning to reclaim “A” status next year.

Wakulla County Schools is now one of only nine school districts in Florida where all district-managed schools are rated “A” or “B.”

“These results are a testament to the hard work of our teachers, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of our families and community,” said Myhre. “We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and we remain committed to continuous growth for the benefit of every student in Wakulla County.”
