The purpose of Wakulla County Schools’ social media pages is to provide an additional platform for sharing district and school information with students, families, staff, and the community. These pages are intended to keep the public informed about district news, programs, events, and student achievements.

Florida has a broad public records law. Written communications created or received by Wakulla County Schools may be considered public records and may be disclosed upon request in accordance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, unless otherwise exempt or confidential under law. Comments and other content posted on district social media platforms may also be subject to public disclosure. If you do not want your comment or identifying information released in response to a public records request, please do not post it.

Private or direct messaging features on social media platforms are not monitored for official district communication. Individuals needing to contact Wakulla County Schools should do so through official district contact methods such as email or telephone.

Participants are expected to interact respectfully with one another, as well as with Wakulla County Schools, its employees, and its students, in accordance with the Wakulla County Schools Respect and Civility Policy (Policy 2.18).

Comments may be hidden or removed if they include:

• vulgar, obscene, abusive, or hateful language
• personal attacks, harassment, or derogatory remarks toward individuals or groups
• threats or language that could incite violence
• spam or repetitive comments, including links unrelated to district business
• promotion of commercial services, products, political candidates, or campaigns
• comments that are clearly off topic
• accusations or allegations involving students or staff
• confidential information, including information protected under FERPA
• personally identifiable medical information
• content that violates School Board policies

Wakulla County Schools will not edit comments to remove objectionable content. Comments that violate these guidelines may be hidden or removed in their entirety.

Opinions or viewpoints expressed by members of the public do not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of Wakulla County Schools.

Questions posted through social media may not receive a response. Individuals seeking assistance are encouraged to contact the school or district directly through official communication channels.
