COVID-19 Plan

Wakulla County Schools has always aimed to reflect our County’s passion for learning, care for kids, and support for one another. It is with this in mind that we hope to outline a community action plan that best serves our students. We recognize that in emergency situations it may be necessary to close a school(s). When this occurs, Wakulla County Schools will work to ensure that our students' education can continue while at home and our community is provided needed support during difficult times. In light of the unprecedented challenges presented by the spread of COVID-19 virus our community action plan currently focuses on two primary areas.

One of which is the distribution of educational packets for students to continue their instruction at home. Each EdPack will contain grade level educational content in paper and pencil format. Additionally, our instructional services department has provided a list of educationally relevant materials on our district website. The second area of focus is ensuring that the Federal School Lunch program is available to our students even in times of crisis. It is our hope that whenever possible we are able to provide our students with sustainable meals that comply with the Federal Government’s nutritional guidelines. We plan to implement a meal delivery system that utilizes current bus routes to avoid many of the challenges parents may face in terms of transportation at this time.
