Volunteers and mentors are needed throughout the school system. All volunteers and mentors in Wakulla County Schools must register through the District Office. Please click below to register or contact the volunteer coordinator at your child's school, if you wish to serve, for assistance.

Volunteer Opportunities
Booster Club
Schools have a variety of parent organizations that serve to support specific activities such as Band, ROTC, and various sports.
Classroom
Assists teacher in classroom, gives individual instruction and prepares materials.
Classroom Speaker
Speak or share a hobby or expertise in a class.
Clerical
Assists with typing, filing, addressing envelopes, and operating duplicating machines.
Day Chaperone
Helps chaperone students on field trips.
Health Screening
Assists with visual and hearing screenings.
Library/Media
Assists librarian in checking in new books, making book repairs, book fairs etc.
Overnight Chaperone
Willing to chaperone students on overnight trips.
PTO
Serves on the PTO committee, plans activities and assists with PTO activities
Room Parent
Works with teacher to assist with class parties and notify other parents regarding volunteer opportunities and special projects
Special Event (Book Fair, Festival etc)
Help with special events like the book fair or festival.
Tutor
Academic or social support for students
Mentor
Requires specific training and Level II Clearance.
One of the highest needs in the volunteer program is for mentors. Mentors work with a specific student in an ongoing one-on-one capacity. They provide support, encouragement, a listening ear, a positive role model and accountability. While some tutoring may occur, tutoring is not the goal or purpose of mentoring. If you want to be a mentor, fill out the volunteer form above or contact Vicki Benton at 850-926-0065.
Athletic Coach
Requires recommendation by principal and Level II Clearance.
This volunteer works directly with a team in a coaching capacity.
