Smith is Democrat coach of the year

Wakulla War Eagle Coach Mike Smith was recognized by the Tallahassee Democrat as 2007 Coach of the Year for the male athletes.

Smith and the All-Big Bend all-star team members were selected by area coaches. Smith led Wakulla to a district title and the Big Bend Championship.

His son, Spencer Smith, a sophomore, was named to the first team. Smith shot a 68 to win the District 3 Class A title. He tied for fourth best in the region.

Wakulla was represented on the second team by Stone Cowie, a freshman. William Davis was selected to the honorable mention team.

The Lady Ware Eagles were represented on the second team by Devon Lowe and Karlynn Scott. Making it on the honorable mention were Rebecca Rivers and Brooklyn Tindall.
