Wakulla Bank congratulated the Wakulla High School carpentry program on its 16th year of providing experience for students interested in learning about the constructoin industry.

Henry Vause and Floyd Hoch created the program 16 years ago, and Vause continues his involvement as the program's supervisor and general contractor.

"The main reason we started the program was to provide hands-on experience for our kids today, in hopes that they will enter the construction field tomorrow," said Vause.

Keith Moore teaches the 2007-2008 class, which is building a three bedroom, two bathroom, 1,108-square-foot home that is scheduled for completion in April 2008.

The home will be sold on a first-come, first served basis and the net proceeds will benefit the WHS Academic Booster Program for scholarships. For more information on purchasing the home, please contact R.H. Carter at 926-7145 or wakcosrcit@embarqmail.com.
